Roger Lester founded Public Reason Institute to advance structured legislative development grounded in institutional integrity and long-term policy design. He directs the Institute's research priorities, proposal development, and methodological standards.

The Institute anticipates expanding its research capacity through formal contributor relationships with policy researchers, attorneys, economists, and subject-matter specialists. Research contributors participate in specific proposal development projects and are credited appropriately in published materials.
Policy Researchers
Specialists with expertise in legislative analysis, regulatory design, or comparative policy development at the federal or state level.
Subject-Matter Specialists

Legal & Statutory Analysts

Current status: The Institute is not currently listing open contributor positions. Researchers interested in future collaboration are encouraged to submit an inquiry through the contact page. All inquiries are reviewed by the founding director.
Advisory Participation
The Institute may consult external experts on specific proposals or research questions in an informal advisory capacity. Advisory participation does not imply institutional affiliation, endorsement, or ongoing engagement. All advisory input is reviewed independently and integrated into the Institute's analysis at its sole discretion.
Advisory consultation is typically scoped to a single proposal or policy area. Advisors are not expected to endorse the Institute's conclusions or public positions.
The Institute maintains full editorial and analytical independence from all external advisors. Advisory input does not constitute direction or control over published content.
Advisory contributors are credited only with their explicit consent, and attributions accurately reflect the nature and scope of their participation.
